Innocent until proven guilty. I was brought up with all these sayings. My dad used to drop nuggets of wisdom throughout my childhood.
I’m now tasked to go through his belongings that I have put off for more than a decade.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know that i use my sketches to process emotions and reimprint memories.
This is a sketch of a wig tin box that barristers used to wear in court. I’m old enough to remember this. My dad used to put on his black coat and wig on special occasions. In what occasions I have no idea. It just made me think that dressing up was something adults did.
Now that I’m an adult, I really dislike dressing up. I equate dressing up with going to work and putting on a mask and costume. Something I can do but not something I enjoy. Maybe sometimes I do enjoy it. Never say never. Never is a strong word.

The days when barristers used to wear wigs in court.
I suppose they still do in England (and I believe Australia as well).
