This is an art deco inspired building that was the Sun Cinema in George Town, built by Choong Chemg Kean in the 1930s. It is located on Drury lane but it has been heavily renovated as a commercial space.
Nam Loong jeweller and goldsmith opened in George Town, Penang opened its doors in 1922 and has created beautiful jewellery for generations of Penangites. It is one of Penang’s oldest and most iconic jewellery stores on the island. The building is situated on Campbell street in the style of Straits eclectic shop house.
The Zhuang and Yan clan house is a network for Chinese descendants with these 2 surnames. It is interesting to note that these 2 surnames share the same lineage as historically the Yans were Zhuangs but changed their surnames out of respect for Emperor Ming.
The Zhuang surname is so interesting. I need to read up more about this.
This clan house is built in the Straits Chinese shop house style merging Chinese elements and British colonial styles. It is located on Kimberly street in Penang.
