Day 12/30 covid 19 lockdown. Im starting a gratitude journal to stay positive in order to get through this.
Sketch of the day no 1322 in my moleskine sketchbook : baby yellow backed sunbird who just landed in her butt after falling out of her nest. Learning to fly has it’s dangers but once you master the skill, you can soar high into the sky, fly baby bird fly ⭐
I’ve named her Suzie. Ive seen her parents build the nest on my balcony and from an egg to a baby bird with no feathers at first. She’s the first to leave the nest this season. She was born 1st of Feb and she flew off 11 Feb. 💛 Watching life grow on my balcony is the best thing I could wish for right now.

I was looking for a goldfish. Only found this. 🐠🐠🐠
The result shows. You do produce a mood. That’s talent…

Goldfish never draw from memory, i draw moving objects from a few photos but i know what mood or characteristic i want to capture

Indeed it must be. This guy in SA, has a very big garden, and a powerful camera at hand all the time. Tell me, you can’t possibly take a photo of every subject. Is your visual memory good enough to draw a bird from memory? Or is it your hand that has the “memory”?

Wow how lucky, yes i will document with my art, but now that my sunbirds have moved into the balcony again, a bit harder to go outside to observe

There’s a blogger in South Africa who has the most fantastic garden, with dozens and dozens of bird species. He’s documented them. In photos. You do it with your art…
