Happy Weekend! Sketch of the day in my monologue art journal is of my favourite fish, the Boxfish. This one is a smooth trunkfish (Lactophrys triqueter)

My father has written a lot about the family history. In French. Covers more than two centuries from India to Singapore. One of my great-uncles was stationed in Penang for a while and then was chief of police in Singapore in the 30’s. René Onraet.
So much to write, so little time… 🙂

Sometimes I think I am. Not memory but feelings. You have such an incredible past! It must be a memoir somewhere

Possibly. I also think some people have more… “conscience” of it than others. I’ve always thought that my “personal” memory goes back at least to the 19th century. Because I’ve known two people who were born then. My grandmother, in 1890 in India. So she “gave” me a “personal” memory of the British raj. (Photos help of course). On my mother’s side, my grandfather fought WWI, and it’s as if I had too. Going back further, we’ve traced our ancestors to a tiny village in Flanders, back to the 1400’s. An inn dating back to the 1600’s belonged to my family and still exists. So… maybe you just have a better memory than most. 🙂
