Sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is of a local dessert called ice Kacang. It’s a street food with many variations. The Base is shaved ice and syrup. Add banana, beans, attap chee, ice cream…
Great on a hot tropical day!

It sounds interesting and it must taste good, too! I would like to try this sometime. I’m a big fan of beans and peas so this is perfect.

The one in my drawing uses red kidney beans but each street vendor has their own variation that makes it unique to them.

Ah! I was wondering because red kidney beans taste sweet so I thought they’d be good to use. The red beans I use in soups don’t tasted sweet at all.
