Hakuba, the white horse

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year 2026! Hope you all had a good celebration with family and friends.

For the new year, I felt like painting something this week, and here’s one to usher in the lunar new year which falls on 17 February. In terms of zodiacs, it will be the year of the horse. As predictions goes, it will be a challenging year for me so I’m getting ready to brace myself for whatever is to come but I’m hoping for the best. Just putting positivity into the universe early. ✨

In Shinto tradition, white horses are sacred messengers of the gods and seeing a white horse at the beginning of the year purifies the soul and wards of misfortune for the next 12 months.
