Continuing my London birds series, here are another 3 common birds from London. The Egyptian goose, the Mallard Drake and the Seagull.
I was at the park yesterday and I spotted a fox sneaking into the bushes by the lake to take a closer look at the birds sunbathing. Interestingly, he was spotted by the birds in the trees. The magpies and parakeets were screaming at the top of their voices which alerted the ducks and geese who were on the other side of the lake. They all came swimming across to fend for their territory. Some had babies with them but they all came in solidarity. It was like watching national geographic live. I would have assumed that the birds would have stayed away especially the ones with babies but in the wild the parents must be teaching the young to identify threats and predators. It was interesting to watch the dynamic. The birds all worked as a team even though they were different breeds.
