Here’s a quick morning sketch of a Chinese pipa also known as a Chinese lute.
Blue bic biro on paper.
Actual Time taken 20 mins.
I like to wake up to a gentle morning practice of sketching to set the tone for the rest of my day.
It is a practice I have kept for the last decade and I am thankful for this introduction by my mentor Mariana who sadly left us but i am reminded of her when I draw.

Floating lemons. That’s the name I had on the tip of my tongue. Marianna. Sorry for your loss. She was a great artist.

They are indeed. I’m learning about them, I’m not musical.

A very unique looking musical instrument.

Sorry to hear about Marianna. She was the one with a site title “Lemon something”? Ever so sorry for your loss…
She embarked you on a different journey.
Would you care to share the link to her blog? I haven’t visited in a while. It would be nice. A way to pay tribute.
(28 frets? That’s a lot)
