I had not seen a wild rat since I was in high school back in the early ’70s….
….until a couple of weeks ago. One got into our house. I tried so hard to catch it and move it back outside to its natural home. I even made eye contact with the little thing, telling it that it would be okay. I couldn’t catch it so I called around to find a pest control service who would help me catch it rather than killing it in a rat trap. Sadly, we couldn’t catch it after a couple of hours, and the bill was up to $200, so I allowed the pest control expert to put down some rat traps in strategic locations. Sadly, the rat found one of them and that was its end. I still fill badly about telling it that everything would be okay.
