A prayer for our departed loved ones
Sketch of the day no 1227 in my moleskine sketchbook : Giant joss sticks.
It is ghost month and the Chinese believe that the gates of heaven and hell are open allowing spirits from the other realm to roam free on earth to visit their loved ones. The tradition is to give offerings to our ancestors and other wandering spirits to appease them

Here is a prayer from me to your departed ones. 🙂
I understand Ghost month goes back at least to the Tang dynasty (600 AD).
I believe this tradition may be much older. 12,000 years maybe?
May all rest in peace.
