Finding life’s passion. An inspiring talk by my hero Dr Jane Goodall this morning in Kuala Lumpur.
Dr Jane Goodall has been my inspiration since I was young. When I was 20 years old, I went to Tanzania to volunteer as a research assistant because of her. I thought if she could do it, so can I!. I did but I didn’t last too long on the field. It takes determination and will power.
Dr Jane Goodall believes that we can make a positive change to our world regardless of who we are. She is known for her research on Chimpanzees in Tanzania.
I am in awe of her dedication and passion. What an incredible woman.
This talk was organised by Roots and shoots Malaysia.

Yes I agree, and how much she has changed peoples perception of women and what they are capable of, and our whole way of looking at animals, particularly Chimps. the nearest i got to one of these great primates was when aged 4, a Chapma Baboon lunged at me and pulled down my pants, at the outlook point on Chapmans Peak! I have always loved nature, and being in it, doing lots of walking and hiking. 🙂

My work on the field did not last long but at least I experienced it and I know how hard it was for me so I can’t even begin how gruelling it would have been for her in the 1960s as a woman in Africa. She really is amazing. A superhuman!

I have always looked up to Jane Goodall, and have followed her career with great interest, as nature and wildlife have always played a huge roll in my life, though I have never tried to become a research assistant, though I think I would have liked that. It was great that you went over and tried to be a research assistant, it must be one of the great memories that make up the interesting tapestry of your life. Thanks for blogging this. Best wishes and blessings, Charles.
