Isn’t she lovely?
Sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is of Flora the gentle and docile deerhound. I met her in Brockwell park, Brixton, London when I went for a walk.
I saw her walking up the hill and asked her owner if I could pat her. She’s a large dog with long shaggy hair and was walking up the hill languidly. I learnt her name was Flora and she’s 12 years old. As I moved to walk off she tried to slowly follow me. These tiny moments in life are simply priceless. She touched my heart.

You are a very kind soul. Or put differently, you seem to be looking for gentleness everywhere, in dogs or in flowers… Thank you for a lovely drawing and warm story. (I can imagine Flora smiling at you) 😉

She did exactly that. Her owner is as old as her and both if them were starting to merge ;p

She is graceful and beautiful and even though she is old I can sense her grace.
