Good Morning!
Sketch of the day in my art journal is Bastet the cat goddess from the British Museum collection. She is also known as the Gayer-Anderson cat.
She is the goddess of cats, protection, joy, dance, music, family and love.
This photo shows my morning ritual. I wake up, make coffee, check my mail. Today I received my moleskine sketchbooks from the book depository. Thank you my friends who suggested that I shop online! After flaffing around, I settle down and I sketch. Take a photo of it, post it on here. When I’m done I go out and I read on the tube to make the journey faster! I’m currently reading silk for the feed dogs by Jackie Mallon.
Et voila, my morning ritual done.
Have a lovely day everyone xx

Kenzo the cat? Brilliant name. I will look him up in your archives. Definitely casted for the next story. ❤

I did not know the Egyptians domesticated the cat. Another bit of wisdom. Thank you for that. Kenzo the cat I drew before was Egyptian. He lived in Cairo.🐱

Bastet is great. Egyptians are the ones who domesticated the Cat. 🙂
And all their gods are fascinating.

I used to draw at night but I am making it a point to start the day with a sketch now. Change things around. Bastet is great isn’t it. I learn new things all the time.

Bastet is one of my favourite Egyptian gods.
So that is your ritual. Funny, I always thought it was the other way round, that you would draw at night, at the end of the day. In the silence of the night. 🙂
Glad you got your new moleskine books. I recall the last one you had was not entirely satisfactory?
Paper quality and all.
That will mean more pleasure for you to draw.
🙂
