I recently visited the newly opened National Gallery in Singapore to check out my talented artist friend’s interactive art exhibition and play space. The Enchanted Tree House by Sandra Lee is definitely worth a visit. It is part of the Keppel Centre for Art Education located on Level 1 of the building.

The building is the historical former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings restored and redesigned to form the National Gallery.

National Gallery Singapore oversees the largest public collection of modern art in Singapore and Southeast Asia. It comprises over 8,000 works from the 19^th and 20^th centuries in all media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography and video.

With the aim to be the centre for research, discussion and publication on the modern art of the region, the Gallery offers wide access and fresh understanding of our unique visual art heritage.

The Gallery’s collection is a comprehensive representation of Singapore art and has unparalleled holdings of works by leading Singaporean artists, particularly of the Nanyang school of the 1930s  ̶  1970s.

Many of these works are featured in the DBS Singapore Gallery, whose inaugural exhibition is titled Siapa Nama Kamu: Art in Singapore Since the 19^th Century.
