Sketch of the day no 790 in my monologue art journal a of a strong Vietnamese woman carrying food. It’s quite incredible how they can balance this on their shoulder and manoeuvre around the busy streets of Hanoi.

Beautiful drawing ~ it does tell a great story as Mary says. Such elegance in the simple life. Years ago I was in the back-country of China and I would fetch water using such bamboo poles to balance and transport the water…and I had to stop for a rest every now and would then laugh as these old men & women had no problems at all 🙂
