Yes and no. It has made me a cultural mongrel. Which has its advantages. And drawbacks. One cannot really be a white african. Think of the indians brought up in the UK who try to “go back” to India to find their roots only to be called “Coconuts”.
But I’m not complaining. It was a rare and beautiful childhood. Beauty is one of the three things we should strive for. (According to the ancient Greeks)

They are. Totally. I got a few nice giraffe shots near Nairobi once. Also remember one crossing the road at a run right before our car, in Karen Blixen’s Ngong hills. It was a near call. 🙂 (pffff)
