Good. That means if I ever learn Malay I will learn Indonesian as a bonus. Two (metaphorical) birds with one stone.

Ribuan teramakasih (?) 🙂 Words (hence languages) fascinate me. Always have. They’re the shape of thoughts (unless you think in images). Just those shapes, the words vary: biru, bleu, blue, azul, blau, etc. The same thought takes different shapes depending on the language. I find it very esthetic. So I looked for the malay translation of “thank you”. Having said that, I suspect by “Bahasa Melayu” that “Bahasa Indonesia” is probably close or somewhat related. Similar words perhaps?

Your Bahasa Melayu is progressing at a far better rate than Chinese. Maybe it’s a sign. I discovered Rumi before Istanbul. This trip I went to Konya. The home of Rumi and Sufism.
