Artwork completed. Here are some photos from the making of Lotus flower mural art for Sunalini yoga on Love Lane.
I was asked to paint a mural for my friend’s yoga studio. I chose the lotus because her name sunalini means good lotus.
She had been asking me to do this for a while now but I didnt have the time but on Thursday when I met up with her I told her “you know what Su, im going to come in tomorrow to paint the lotus for you.” She was thrilled.
The next day I arrived at noon, after her morning class. I grabbed some lunch with her students and settled in to paint.
I finished at 6pm the same day.
She was so happy with the artwork. She told me, “Today marks the 2nd anniversary of my yoga studio. Thank you ”
I replied, “I don’t know why I chose today but some things are just meant to be. I allow energy to flow. It felt right.”

Thank you! It is rare someone thinks I’m witty and funny. Over here sometimes my humour is lost in translation 😆

You are very quick with words. Witty and funny. Now the fact that you think in pictures is fabulous. An Insight as my former clients would have said. 🙂

That’s a fun exercise to try and yes I think in pictures! I’m not good with words at all!

Yeeees. But (at least I do) I tend to think most people “think” in words. But I think that artists, as you, “think” in images. As musicians must think in melodies, music notes. I’m not sure how it works, but I “think” you think the image in some sort of way, and then it comes out of your hand. Weird isn’t it?
last but not least a great artist Jijé told his pupils to draw without looking at the paper, “just look at the model, don’t look at the paper, your hand knows its job”. 🙂

Yes it does and it is the same with writers. One expresses with words and the other through images!
