When is the burning of plantations in Indonesia and Malaysia going to stop?? The haze and smog from the fires is KILLING us. Even the sock Gremlin has come out of hiding and complaining. Pffft
Sketch of the day in my Daler Rowney art journal is of the sock Gremlin protesting. Stop the burning!!!

Interesting. Thank you for the clarification. Not anything we hear about here. Sadly.

They burn the plantations after the productivity cycle ends cos is easier to burn than to chop down the trees for replanting

Interesting, thanks.
Some many years ago when I was in Laos, I learned they burn every year another part of the forest, in 15 or 18 years rotation, as means for natural growth. Is that the same idea here? or why? just to quicken seeding?

That means you have a sock gremlin!

No I don’t have a sock gremlin. What I have are missing socks of pairs. You know how sometimes one sock mysteriously disappears after the laundry. I think that is the origin of the sock gremlins. They’re lone socks on the run. 🙂
