Sketch of the day in my Daler Rowney art journal is The social historian which is going to go to my moustache series of people.
This is actually based on a man from one of my favorite Penang photography books. Portraits of little india. He looks so old and wise which is why I named him the social historian. Im sure if i could meet him he would know everything about Penang.

Tamoul wear sarongs. Also on the coast of East Africa. I used to wear one on the beach in Mombasa. Can’t remember if I ever saw anyone wearing a kikoy (Sarong) in daar es salam. Women in Indonesia used to wear sarongs. Now men? I don’t know. Guess so. π
