Sketch of the day in my Daler Rowney art journal is of a Pair of tablas that I saw last night from the festival of Taal. This is the first time I’ve really noticed them. It was an incredibly spiritual performance especially when more than 300 people played in a group. I was mesmerised by the music.

Interesting, I’ve heard them while living with the Native American Indians on the Navajo and Crow reservations, can’t imagine how that many would sound together.
