Sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is of a vintage mahjong tile hand made in Penang.
This tiles is considered a ‘flower’ and the chinese character means ‘fly’.
An artisan made this in Penang. Mahjong tile making is an old trade in Penang but it is almost disappeared.
Mahjong is played with four players with 144 mahjong tiles. It is a traditional chinese game.
