Sketch of the day no 672 in my moleskine art journal is of a retro vintage ice shaver which is used to make ice kacang, a famous Penang dessert. A block of ice is placed between the Base and a spiked lid. When the handle is turned the ice is rotated and shaved at the Base. A bowl is placed underneath to collect the shaved ice.
Ice kacang is the dessert made from the shaved ice. Rose syrup and other ingredients such as kidney beans, attapci and bananas are added for more colour and taste!

Ok I googled it and it says attapci is Nypah Palm fruit
