Today’s sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is the tree that gave Penang island it’s name. The Pinang Palm or Areca nut palm. Areca Catechu.
The seed is commonly known as betel nut seed because it is shaved, wrapped in betel leaf and used for chewing.
The Penang state flag features the Pinang Palm. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Penang
Island Living. I love my Penang xoxo

Seems I just got a load of message that i’ve never seen. Anyway, yes it’s kinda odd very sweet but intriguing at the same time. It’s hard to explain

I keep learning as well! I am really finding the meaning in my art. I’m becoming a social historian 😆
