Sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is an Ottoman star burst brass door knocker. It is a solid cast brass knocker shaped as a handle with a hammer head at the back, the hollow body with champfered edges, surmounted by a star burst or sun form cresting emitting rays.
I have a bit of an obsession with doors and here in Istanbul, every door is unique and all the Ironmongery are interesting. Some are Ottoman, some could be Greek or Albanian, depending on the owner.
I have been in Istanbul for a month now and there’s still so much to discover.

In some villages in colombia. It is so hot inside thw house that people take the chaira out in the afternoon on the sidewalk to take advantage of the fresh air. And all the neighbours chat on the street. Very strange.
