Sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is my favourite Turkish dessert, baklava. It is made with filo pastry and filled with chopped pistachios or walnuts and drizzled with honey. I’m eating my way through Istanbul looking for the best one.

Nom Nom Nom!!! I had a friend make a cherry baklava a few years back. Same concept as standard baklava, just with a layer of fresh cherries she had cooked down into a thick compote. SO good!
