I know today is April Fools day but i don’t know what that really means. I don’t understand why you would want to fool someone. Maybe I am not funny. Who knows.
So today’s sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal has nothing to do with April fool’s. My sketch are Easter egg patterns. Some polka dots and nautical designs. I don’t have that many colours to work with. I’m travelling at the moment and I only brought a few faber castell pens with me. Keeping it simple.
Happy Easter!

(As far as I know) The christian year used to start on April 1st, and presents were given. Then one Pope or the other changed the calendar (we’d gotten behind ’cause the year is 365.something days…) and the New Year was set ast january first. And presents were now given at the new New year. So what happened to the Old New year? As a joke, foolish presents started to be given, or jokes were made since April 1st was not New Year anymore.
(Don’t take it for granted. Check it out!)
Be good.
Brian
