I think there are so many benefits. I’ve kept a travel journal since I was a teen and went to a tiny country school and had the same science teacher every year. Each year our teacher organized a science field trip that took one whole week. We would not have to do any science classwork that week, as long as we kept a journal. When we returned home we had to turn in our journal to be graded. So I wrote about the Tetons, and the Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce and Yellowstone and all these wonderful places at a very young age. I’ve been doing it ever since, and now I have a blog and all of you get a chance to grade my journals, ha ha!
