I just heard this shocking and heartbreaking news. This is the second Malaysian airlines plane that crashed this year. This is a huge tragedy for our country and for everyone whose family was on board.
I am deeply saddened. My prayers go out to the families of MH17.

Terrible tragedy! Humans have been conducting wars since time immemorial, so I’m not very optimistic they’ll change their behaviour in the near future. I just wish the Malaysian plane had chosen another route. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of victims.

I’m mainly with JunkChuck, but the jury is still out on Putin, in my mind. The western media has been bending over backwards making Putin out to be the bad guy. The truth is there is always more than meets the eye, and we shouldn’t jump to conclusions based on early, and spotty, reports.
I run with a lot of people who almost always look to a conspiracy theory. With this, I’m *hearing* that this IS the SAME PLANE as the one that went missing in March, just re-marked. Where it’s been all this time? They don’t/can’t say. The theory goes on to say that it was intentionally flown into this war zone, fully expecting to be shot down. Why? To further force international condemnation – – – assuming that Putin gets the blame. They point to the burnt destroyed wreckage, with no discernible bodies, yet pristine passports.
I’m not saying that this scenario is probable, but it’s certainly not impossible. I know you said there were 280 passengers, but do you know how many were Malaysian? The passports that they showed were a variety of European ones. As with the March disappearance, are they showing grieving Malaysian family members on Malaysian television? Does it *look – at all – like* the TV News is running stock footage from March? Have they highlighted specific Malaysians on the news there yet, or do you have knowledge – first, second, third-hand – of any of these “new” victims.
A lot of these questions I just posed might seem (more than) a little out there, and some would always argue that they are insensitive. But, when the media reports on these kind of tragedies . . . they tend to give out very little *real information*, while *happily* playing on all of our emotional heart strings. Clearly, this is a terrible tragedy, whether these people are brand new victims, or the ones that went missing in March. I completely agree with all of the posters who are calling for more peace in this world, but I don’t think true peace is possible when we’re being constantly deceived and manipulated.
Any thoughts, Tiff? — YUR
