Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, a leader, a human rights activist and positive voice for non-governmental organizations such as the Malaysian AIDS Foundation and sisters of Islam, officially launched The Chairity for cancer exhibition yesterday at the Edge Galerie, KL.
This project was initiated by National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to raise cancer awareness. 15 Malaysian based artist were invited to create a series of artwork using an armchair as their canvas.
I was invited in October 2013 to participate in this event. I received the chair in Dec, a few months later and was busy working on it. I stressed and panic over how to convey the message thought my artwork, but now seeing the final product on display at the art gallery, I feel a sense of relief. I feel proud and honoured to be part of this project.

Photos below are of the 15 Chairs by 15 artists

The exhibition will on until Sunday 18th May 2014. The chairs are for sale. If you would like to place a bid, pls fill in the form below and email to viji@cancer.org.my
