Day 2 of the Penang World Music Festival was a subdued affair. It’s not because the music was not lively, but we were all shattered from the night before. We arrived a little later around 730pm so we missed the earlier music. The field was already full. We found a spot next to some friends and plonked ourselves there. We brought our own picnic mats and party snacks, laid it all out and almost passed out 🙂
We got up briefly to say hello to the charismatic Carlos Dje Dje who performed the night before, and went straight back to lie down our mats!
In between the lounging, there was some swaying to Dikir Barat, the traditional Malay music of Kelantan. I guess I liked it because they were passionate, the beat was lively and familiar to me.
Today, I have started to cough. I think I’m coming down with a cold 😦
