Set Your Spirit Free: Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out ~ James Bryant Conan
Today I took my friends who are visiting me to the turtle sanctuary in Pantai Keracut in Taman Negara Penang. It is the season for turtles to lay eggs. The green turtles come to shore to lay eggs. They bury the eggs in the sand. Below are photos showing where the buried eggs are protected from poachers and a group of baby turtles. They are about a week old and will be released back into the ocean tomorrow.

Thank you. I couldn’t get his original colour to work for me after simplifying the form so I decided to go with my own combo 🙂

This post reminds me of a lady I knew, who worked for a government forestry department. She told me about how going to see baby turtles all come out of the sand to head towards the beach waters was such a huge event. She made it sound like so much fun, I had really wanted to join her one day. That Turtle Crossing sign is great! Although I don’t think I’d want to be the patient car driver who has to wait for a turtle to mosey across the street.
