Set Your Spirit Free: Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out ~ James Bryant Conan
Today I took my friends who are visiting me to the turtle sanctuary in Pantai Keracut in Taman Negara Penang. It is the season for turtles to lay eggs. The green turtles come to shore to lay eggs. They bury the eggs in the sand. Below are photos showing where the buried eggs are protected from poachers and a group of baby turtles. They are about a week old and will be released back into the ocean tomorrow.

I havent seen turtles hatch but when I was young I saw a giant leatherback turtle laboriously giving birth. It takes so long she looks like she’s crying. It is an amazing experience but I guess it’s a bit rude to crowd around watching. The turtle sign on the other hand is great. It made me smile looking at it.
