This cow was roaming outside my house. However much we have developed as a nation, some traditions have yet to go away. This is a free range cow that lives in the Hindu temple not too far away. Maybe a couple of km. The cows often roam around the neighbourhood and somehow manages to find their way home again. Don’t be alarmed! This cow is not for eating. Cows are sacred in the Hindu religion.
Talking about religion, I would like to wish all my Muslim friends Happy Eid al-Adha. I live on an island where you can find a Hindu temple, Buddisht temple, Mosque church all on the same street or very closeby. Respecting each others faith was how we were all brought up. Unfortunately these days it is fast changing because of dirty politics. I hope for the sake of peace that we will all go back to how it should be. Let there be peace.

Love your sketch of the cow. And I so respect the Hindu belief that cows are sacred and hope the lifestyle you know does not get modernized, Westernized or Americanized (and I say that as an American)!!

What a lovely philosophy on co existence. Am honoured to have you as a visitor to my humble blog. For the first time in life I am honoured to have three close friends all celebrating ramadan right now and yes here in Tanzania there is no animosity between the faiths that I can see. i think that is one reason why I am so happy in this environment. Thank for sharing.

Haha this is really cute! I love the way you stylized it for your daily sketch. The eye is especially endearing. The story of harmonious coexistence makes this an even more beautiful post.
